On the morning of August 4, 2025 Sino-German Academic Summer Camp, jointly organized by Hefei University(HFU) and Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences, kicked off at Hefei University. Bai Yixiang, HFU Vice President, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Twenty-seven students from HFU Continental Class Program and Sino-German cooperative programs, as well as Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences(Germany) gathered together.
On behalf of Hefei University, Bai Yixiang extended a warm welcome to the teachers and students from Germany, remarking that Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences and Hefei University share a 40-year history of friendly cooperation. The dual-system Continental Class co-established by the two parties has already had 111 under-graduates across five cohorts. As a key initiative of HFU to boost high-quality development through high-level Sino-foreign cooperation, this summer camp has built a high-quality exchange platform for Sino-German exchanges in science, technology and humanities, with academic research as the bridge, cultural connection as the link and students as the foundation. Bai hoped that all the students would gain both knowledge and friendship here, so as to expand their academic thinking through practical innovation, and jointly build a community of civilization with openness and inclusiveness.
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Sven Lange from Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences delivered a video speech, expressing his earnest expectations for this summer camp. Jonas Reck, German student representative, gave a speech and shared his aspirations and expectations for the camp.
This Summer Camp will be held from August 4th to September 5th. Tailored to the practical needs of students from China and Germany, the camp has arranged a series of activities, including intensive German language courses, German-Chinese student dialogue sessions, workshops, as well as visits to Continental Corporation (Hefei), museums and universities in Hefei. These activities hope to enable the participants to ignite their passion for innovation, experience cross-cultural exchanges through hands-on practice and gain profound insights into China’s deepening integration with the world.
