School of Economics and Management


School of Economics and Management was established in 2019 by merging the former Department of Economics and Department of Management, which now has 4 departments: Department of Economics and Trade, Logistics Management, Investment Finance, and Financial Accounting, and 1 Experimental Training Center.

The School has a faculty of more than 120, 58 of which are professors or associate professors, 52 have got Doctors degree and 83 dual-ability qualifications. There are 2 visiting professors: Pro. Fang Tao from Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada) and Pro. Beatrice Knerr from Kassel University (Germany). Among the teaching staff, 1 has been selected as one of the 100 high-level talents (the third batch of National Intellectual Property Talent Project), and 4 entitled Anhui Provincial Outstanding Teacher and 2 Anhui Provincial New Teaching Star. In recent years, more than 100 high-quality academic papers have been published, 6 national projects sponsored by Chinas National Social Sciences Fund and National Science Fund, over 40 research projects funded by Chinas Ministry of Education and Anhui Provincial departments. 15 research reports have got focus from relevant municipal, provincial and ministerial administrations.

Currently, the School has 2 Master degree programs of Finance and Accounting, 2 national first-class programs: Economic Engineering and Logistics Management, and 5 provincial first-class or featured programs: Accounting, Finance, Economics, International Economics and Trade, and International Business. Sub-field Logistics II-Enterprise Logistics has been selected as one of Chinas national offline first-class courses (first batch). Additionally, it has 24 labs specialized for Economic Engineering, Financial Data Analysis, Modern Logistics, Accounting Settlement and Training.

In 2021, HFU signed an agreement with German universities on the program of joint cultivation of economic and management professionals, offering double degrees for students in the 2 undergraduate programs: Economic Engineering and Logistics Management (the first Sino-foreign cooperation program in Anhui Province approved by Chinas Ministry of Education), which have been accredited by both Germany and European Union. Adopting the teaching mode of German applied universities, these two programs have been cultivating high-end technical professionals with international vision.

With the deepening of “The Belt and Road Initiative” and the promoting of the Cambodian Class of International Economics and Trade, the first international students have successfully graduated and achieved high-quality employment, which has been well commended by the Cambodian local governments.

    The faculties have obtained outstanding teaching achievements, winning 2 first prizes for National Teaching Achievement Award, 2 first prizes and 4 second prizes for Anhui Provincial Teaching Achievement Award. In 2021, the School was granted one of the first batch of new liberal arts research and reform practice projects from Chinas Ministry of Education. In terms of the cultivation of students innovation and entrepreneurship ability, the students have won more than 200 awards in high-level innovation and entrepreneurship competitions in recent years, among which one group won the gold award for “Anhui Provincial College Students Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition” and advanced to the national competition, winning the bronze award in 2022.
