On the afternoon of September 20th, Christian Wulff, former President of Germany and Global Chairman of Global Alliance of SMEs (GASME), visited Hefei University (HFU). Wang Qidong, Chair of HFU Council, and Wu Chunmei, president of HFU, meet with Mr. Wulff.
During the symposium, Wang Qidong expressed his sincere gratitude for Mr. Wulff’s long-term contribution to HFU’s development. He reviewed HFU’s cooperation with Germany since Mr. Wulff’s fifth visit in 2019, including HFU’s cooperation agreements with Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences and DHIK, the Sino-German Open Online Learning Platform co-built with German universities, and HFU’s Volkswagen College co-built with Volkswagen Group.
Mr. Wulff recalled the cooperation between Anhui Province and Lower Saxony, which forged friendly-provincial ties. He expressed his hope for deeper exchanges between the two parties and greater success of Volkswagen College.
During his interaction with HFU students, Mr. Wulff pointed out China’s advantages in the transformation and development of automobile industry and expressed high expectations for them.
Afterwards, Mr. Wulff visited the school-enterprise training platform of Volkswagen College and highly affirmed HFU’s school-running orientation “locality, application and internationalization”.
