On the afternoon of October 10th, Volkswagen Group Delegation, led by Dr. Thomas Steg, Executive Vice President of Volkswagen, visited HFU for in-depth Sino-German cooperation and the construction of HFU’s Volkswagen College. Wang Qidong, Chair of HFU Council, and Wu Chunmei, HFU president, warmly welcomed Dr. Steg and the delegation.
Wang remarked that the Volkswagen College is a representative collaboration project between HFU and Volkswagen Anhui to serve the local economy, which not only deepens HFU’s dual-system education, but also contributes to the talent training for the new-energy automobile industry.
During the meeting, Wu Chunmei shared her recent visit to the Volkswagen headquarters in Germany in September, and she expressed her sincere gratitude for their support in the construction of HFU’s Volkswagen College. Wu stated that the Volkswagen College has received funding and venue support from Anhui Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and Hefei Municipal Government, while the Volkswagen Group has provided industrial technical guidance as well as high-quality courses and faculty.
Dr. Steg commended HFU for proactively offering programs related to new-energy vehicles to keep up with the market demand. He also appreciated HFU’s support for Volkswagen’s need of talents, and looked forward to further cooperation with HFU in research and talent training for the new energy vehicle industry.
After the meeting, Dr. Steg and his delegation visited the school-enterprise training platform of Volkswagen College.
